MAKIN' BAYCON ISSUE 1:
FRIDAY MORNING
Welcome to BayCon '95!
Welcome to BayCon, the Bay Area's premier science fiction convention,
and one of the largest in the United States. You're holding Makin'
BayCon, the official newsletter of BayCon. We'll be here with program
changes, party notices and reviews, announcements and news twice daily
on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with a wrap-up issue on Monday morning.
Our deadlines are 3 PM for the evening edition and 11 PM for the morning
edition. If you have a news item you'd like to see in Makin' BayCon,
leave it in one of the drop boxes located at the Info Desk and at ConOps
in the Boardroom, or slip it under our door. The newsletter office is
located in room 641, but our hours are likely to be irregular. When
we're available, the door will be open, and you're welcome to drop in
with news items.
You should be able to pick up Makin' BayCon at many different places
around the hotel. Standard drop-off locations will be the Info Desk,
ConOps, the Con Suite, Green Room, and many other fixed locations.
Subject to the hotel's approval, we will try to drop issues at the
Coffee Garden as well.
Night Registration Available
Night registration will be available during the last 90 minutes that
Registration is open. A Night registration is good for that evening and
all of the following day. The price for night registration is the
following day's one-day price plus $5. Please see the signs posted by
registration or ask one of the eager reg brigade workers for more
information. Remember that you need a valid membership badge for
admission to all events, day or night, and for admission to convention-
controlled areas such as the party floors.
Attention Party Hosts
Open parties are restricted to the second and third floors of the Red
Lion Hotel. Parties held elsewhere may be subject to closure,
especially if your neighbors complain.
Want us to publicize your party? Get your party notice in to a
newsletter drop point before the 3 PM afternoon deadline and we'll print
the notice in the evening edition. Watch out for the Secret Masters of
Parties, they will be roaming the halls looking for parties to review for
the following morning's edition.
