1999 Masquerade Alice Through the Looking Glass Masked Ball The Theme this year for the Masquerade Ball at BayCon is "Alice Through the Looking Glass Masked Ball". Presiding will be the Queen of Hearts and her trusted judges, so be on your best behavior and wear a dashing costume, or she may order "Off with your head!" The Masquerade will be held on Saturday night, as traditional. Before and after the parade of costumes for her majesty and honored guests, there will be dancing to popular music of the past and present. All those attending are invited to join. Within the Queens realm anything is possible for example you could be a Unicorn of many colors, a refugee from El5Prime, or an Elf with a vengeance and an M-16. So let your fantasies take you away (please stay within the general rules) and come up with something wild. Alice Through the Looking Glass Masked Ball, has only one rule, you must have a mask, face painting also works. It is a masked ball after all! For those of you who wish to enter the Masquerade as a contestant, please fill out the entry form provided at the Information Booth on Friday and on Saturday until 1 PM. Last minute entries should contact the Costume Mistress directly via email or phone: masquerade@baycon.org or (408) 364-9653. The costume competition will be informal so if you have never entered a competition the relaxed atmosphere will be perfect for you. Children are welcome to compete. The competition categories will be: Best Historical For further information, e-mail masquerade@baycon.org |
