- What is BayCon?
BayCon is one of the five largest regional annual science fiction and fantasy conventions in the United States, and has been held annually since 1982. While BayCon has an emphasis on writing and art, attendees can also find things like costuming, hard science, music, gaming and much more.
- When is BayCon?
BayCon is held each May over Memorial Day Weekend (May 25-28, 2001), and runs 24-hours a day, beginning early Friday afternoon and ending Monday evening.
- Where is BayCon?
BayCon is held at the San Jose DoubleTree Hotel (formerly the Red Lion). It is located near the San Jose Airport with easy access to the major south bay freeways 101, 880 and the Guadalupe Expressway (87). The hotel is on Gateway Blvd. at the intersection of Technology Drive. It is right next to highway 101, at the First St. exit.

- How much is a BayCon membership?
Full Four-Day Adult Membership:
May 30, 2000 - Aug 31, 2000: $50.00
Sep 1, 2000 - Nov 30, 2000: $55.00
Dec 1, 2000 - Feb 28, 2001: $60.00
Mar 1, 2001 - Apr 30, 2001: $65.00
May 1, 2001 to at the door: $70.00
Pre-registration closes May 15th.
All memberships after then must be purchased at the door.
If One (1), Two (2) and Three (3) Day or Evening Memberships are made available, they will be sold 'At The Door' only. Rates will not be determined until the start of the convention.
An Adult is considered anyone over the age of twelve (12) years prior to the first day of the convention. For youths between the ages of eight (8) and twelve (12) the membership rate is $25.00. "Kid in Tow" badges are available for $5.00 for children up to the age of seven (7) who will be CONSTANTLY in the company of their adult BayCon member caretaker. These children cannot be left on their own in the Gaming Room or any other badge-required convention area. (These memberships are sold at the door only!)

- What are the hotel room rates?
Room rates for BayCon 2000 are $84/night for a single/double and $94/night for a triple/quad.

- Are you having a Dealers Room?
Yes. BayCon has a dealers room. We have dozens of dealers catering to a wide variety of fan related interests in the dealers room. For a complete list and the hours the dealers room will be open, please see our dealers room page.
- Can I still get a table in the Dealers Room?
No. The Dealers Room is sold out for 2001. For more information, please see our dealers room page.
- What is the status of the BayCon Masquerade? (or I have heard that BayCon is not having a Masquerade?)
For the past few years BayCon has not had a traditional masquerade. Instead, we have held a "Masquerade Ball." Everyone is welcome to participate in any costume. There will also be a dance. Special awards will be given for excellence in costuming.
- What about holding a party?
If you are planning on holding a room party, request to be placed on the Party Floor at the time you make your reservation. Also please contact BayCon 2001 by U.S. Mail or by E-mail
- Will there be night time Registration?
