On Saturday night will be the Monster Mash Masked Ball for our
masquerade. Monsters, ghosts, witches, and vampires (Oh my) will be
out in force to party the night away. So come dressed to impress as
your favorite monster and have a ghoulishly good time! Contestants
will promenade in front of our dead-lee group of judges.
For those of you thinking on entering the masquerade this year the
costume competition will be informal, so if you have never entered a
competition the relaxed atmosphere will be perfect for you. Children
are welcome to compete. Please fill out the entry form provided at
the Information Booth all day Friday, and Saturday until 1:00 pm. If
you have not signed up by then & still wish to be in the
Masquerade, come to the upstairs ballrooms no later than 6:30 pm
Saturday to talk with our Costume Mistress. All late entries must
show at this time and gain approval from her.
The competition categories are in both professional and novice amd will be:
Best Historical
Best Fantasy
Best Sci Fi
Best Group
Best of Show
Best Workmanship
Best Technical Skill
Best Novice
Best Professional
Children's Costuming
Awards will be presented in both Novice and Professional categories
where applicable.
Special note to contestants this
year: To make things easier for everyone, we are asking our
contestants to contact our DJ if they desire music playing while
they parade their costumes. First, please contact our DJ and ask
if he has a copy of the musical score you need. If not, you will
need to provide him a MP3 file or compact disc of the music and
you will need to get it to him before Friday night of the
convention. If you have any questions, please contact Gary at
dj@baycon.org.
