Gaming

The Gaming Room

The Gaming Room provides entertainment galore, from game demos and tournaments to board games, card games, LARPs, and game design (oh my!). Con attendees can check out board and card games for personal use by surrendering their badge to the gaming staff during game play. The gaming room is also open 24 hours, so if you have an itch to play cribbage at two in the morning, you can! A full list of games available for checkout is available from the gaming staff.

The gaming room also features a soda machine for all your caffeination needs! Proceeds from the soda machines will go to this year's charity.

Paranoia LARP

Greetings, Citizen! Friend Computer welcomes you to Alpha Complex, where life is perfect and everyone is happy. To facilitate that, your local Happiness Officers have arranged a carnival! Attendance is compulsory, citizen. You are a Troubleshooter, enforcing the Mandatory Happiness Directive. Now, everyone would be happy if it weren't for those Commie Mutant Traitors. This would be so much easier if some of your teammates weren't Commie Mutant Traitors themselves! Can you weed them out and raise your clearance? Sign-up sheet will be available in the gaming room.

Iron Game Design Competition

Do you have what it takes to design a game? Come by the gaming room to sign up for the Iron Game Design Competition for fabulous prizes! On Saturday morning, the secret ingredient will be revealed, and individuals or teams have 24 hours to build a game using the secret ingredient. On Sunday morning, games will be judged on originality, ease of gameplay, and fun factor. Due to the availability of the secret ingredient, a maximum of 4 contestants (either individuals or teams) will be allowed. Sign-up sheet will be available in the gaming room.

Chairman's Cribbage Tournament

This year, our wonderful chairman, Bobby "Fearless Leader" Toland, has decided to grace the gaming room with his presence. The pegs will fly fast and furious on the (Cribbage) Board of Education. Think you can beat the chairman of the convention at his own game? Come on down and test your skill! Don't know how to play? That's fine, too. Ask your friendly neighborhood gaming staffer! Sign-up sheet will be available in the gaming room.

Dresden Files Larp

Summit Arcane: A LARP set in the world of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files.

The year is 1928, in the city of New Orleans. As uneasy alliances form and tension builds in the days leading up to the Mardi Gras celebration, Queen Mab has thrown down an ultimatum: work out a truce, or face her wrath. Now, a score of the supernatural community's most trusted (read expendable) diplomats are set to sign a treaty.

This game will feature pre-generated non-canonical characters. Preregistration is recommended, but sign-ups may be taken on-site. To register or for more information, please email bc.dresden.larp@gmail.com.

Warning: This game may contain spoilers for the book series.
